Aanvullende informatie/inhoud	Der Golfstrom, diese grosse, warme Meeresströmung im atlantischen Ozean, die vom Golf von Mexiko bis hinauf nach Island fliesst, spielt eine eminente Rolle in der Klimaregulierung zwischen den Polen. Das Wasser dieser Strömung erreicht die europäischen Küsten mit noch relativ hoher Temperatur für diese Breitengrade.   Nordwesteuropa, wo eigentlich Tundra-ähnliche Kälte herrschen würde, profitiert dank dem Golfstrom von einem ziemlich angenehm milden und moderat feuchten Klima.      Das Werk ist eine musikalische Reise dieser Strömung. Der erste Satz beginnt dort wo sie noch am wärmsten ist. Der zweite Satz illustriert die europäischen Küsten und deren Erwärmung. Der dritte die Ankunft am Nordpol und das Abtauchen in die Untiefen, um dann nach Süden zurückzukehren.   Gulf Stream wurde am 26. März 2005 vom Ensemble TUBA-YAGA (Ivan Milhiet, Arnaud Boukhitine, Stéphane Labeyrie, Gabriel Capet, Thierry Thibault) und den Professoren der Region Bretagne, unter der Leitung von Gwénolé Ruffet uraufgeführt. Das Werk ist Ivan gewidmet, der uns 2009 verlassen hat. Thierry Thibault The Gulf Stream is a powerful warm marine stream that crosses the Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Mexico north to Iceland. It represents a significant factor in the climatic regulation between the equator and the north and south poles. The waters of this stream have retained their relatively high temperatures, especially in latitudinal terms, by the time they have reached the European coast. Consequently, as the result of the effects of the Gulf Stream, Northwestern Europe is the beneficiary of a relatively comfortable and mildly humid climate instead of a very cold and dry tundra-like environment. This piece follows musically the route of Gulf Stream. The first movement reflects the beginning of the journey, when the stream is at its highest temperature. The second movement represents the voyage along the European coastal areas and their resultant warming. The third movement takes it to the North Pole and then diving into the abyss of the return to the South. Gulf Stream was premiered on March 26, 2005 by the TUBA-YAGA ensemble (Ivan Milhiet, Arnaud Boukhitine, Stéphane Labeyrie, Gabriel Capet, Thierry Thibault) and the professors of the 'région Bretagne' conducted by Gwénolé Ruffet. This work is dedicated to Ivan, who left us in 2009. Thierry Thibault Le Gulf Stream est un grand courant marin chaud qui traverse l'océan Atlantique depuis le Golf du Mexique jusqu'à l'Islande. Il joue un rôle important dans la  régulation climatique qui s'effectue entre l'équateur et les pôles. Les eaux de ce courant viennent se heurter aux côtes européennes à des températures encore relativement élevées pour la latitude.   L'Europe du Nord Ouest, tout spécialement, où devrait dominer un climat très froid proche de la toundra, connaît un climat océanique doux et humide assez agréable grâce au Gulf Stream.      La pièce retrace en musique le parcours de ce courant. Le premier mouvement raconte le début de ce voyage, le courant étant au maximum de sa chaleur. Le second représente le périple le long des côtes européennes et leur réchauffement. Le  troisième son arrivée au pôle nord et sa plongée vers les abysses pour retourner en direction du sud.   Gulf Stream a été créé le 26 mars 2005 par l'ensemble TUBA-YAGA (Ivan Milhiet, Arnaud Boukhitine, Stéphane Labeyrie, Gabriel Capet, Thierry Thibault) et les professeurs de la région Bretagne, sous la direction de Gwénolé Ruffet.
