Thoughts [Gedanken] ist ein Werk, das die verschiedenen Klangfarben-Kombinationen zwischen Trompete/Flügelhorn und Orgel erforscht. Obwohl manchmal Tempobeschleunigungen vorkommen, ist Thoughts grundsätzlich ein ruhiges, meditatives Stück. Das Eröffnungssolo, mit dem thematischen Einsatz von kleinen Terzen, prägt einen grossen Teil des Werkes melodisch und harmonisch.

Thoughts is a work which explores the different color combinations of the trumpet/flugelhorn when combined with organ. Although there are moments when the pace quickens, in general Thoughts is essentially quite and meditative. The opening solo, with its thematic use of the minor third, forms the basis for much of the piece in terms of both melodic and harmonic content.

Thoughts [Pensées] est une oeuvre qui explore les différentes combinaisons de couleurs sonores réalisables conjuguées entre la trompette, le bugle et l'orgue. Bien que l'allure s'anime parfois, Thoughts est plutôt une pièce calme et méditative. Le solo initial, marqué par l'usage thématique de tierces mineures, structure l'essentiel de la pièce, tant au niveau mélodique qu'harmonique.
